Safe Horizon Junior Council’s Summer Celebration
On July 14th, the Junior Council hosted their annual Summer Celebration, raising over $28,000 to support Safe Horizon’s work moving victims of violence from crisis to confidence.
The evening began with an intimate beachside dinner at the home of Jane and Jack Rivkin in East Hampton. Over 120 supporters gathered to celebrate the work of the Council and to learn about Safe Horizon. While enjoying the Caribbean music of a steel drum band throughout the evening, guests enjoyed wine provided by Barefoot Wine and the evening’s signature cocktail “p.i.n.k. lemonade” provided by p.i.n.k. Vodka. The Seafood Shop of East Hampton served the evening’s dinner including lobster, filet, clams, oysters, shrimp and assorted summer treats.
During dinner, guests were welcomed by Safe Horizon Board member, Jane Rivkin who congratulated and applauded the Council on their accomplishments. Over the past year, the Council has introduced Safe Horizon to over 700 new individual donors and raised over $56,000. Junior Council Co-chairs Anna Richardson and John Ordway spoke about the Council’s mission, goals for the coming year and thanked guests for their ongoing support. “We hope that each of you are as inspired as we are by the work of Safe Horizon and will not only continue to support our efforts raising money and awareness for this wonderful organization, but continue to reach out to your friends and get them involved,” said Junior Council Co-chair Anna Richardson.
Following the dinner, over 600 guests gathered for the Summer Celebration after party at the brand new ultra hip club, DUNE Southampton. From 10pm-midnight, guests—including Jay Z and Kid Rock enjoyed an open bar generously donated by our event sponsors, p.i.n.k. Vodka, Barefoot Wine & Champagne, TY KU and Dos Equis; live music by DJ Berrie and of course, lots of dancing.
