Hope Shining Across the Nation
| Hope Shining aims to build on and support the tremendous work being done by organizations across the nation who share our belief that every child is entitled to a life free from violence and full of possibilities. The Hope Shining Alliance is a partnership among some of the most renowned and reputable agencies in the field. We are honored to have received their endorsements and to be working with these organizations on behalf of children and families.
Child Protect Child Protect, Children's Advocacy Center, was incorporated November 1989 as a 501(c)3 non-profit agency. The mission of Child Protect is "to support children who are victims of abuse through the investigation and management of their cases in a non-threatening environment."
Child Protect serves the communities of Montgomery, Autauga, Elmore and Chilton counties and works with multidisciplinary teams in each of these counties. The MDT's are made up of law enforcement, the Department of Human Resources, mental health, health and prosecutors. The MDT's meet on a regular basis to discuss cases and better serve the child and their families. Child Protect provides a forensic interview, counseling and family advocacy to children who have been abused after a referral from the Department of Human Resources and/or law enforcement. |

CornerHouse Interagency Child Abuse Evaluation and Training Center The mission of CornerHouse is to assess suspected child sexual abuse, to coordinate forensic interview services and to provide training for other professionals. CornerHouse conducts forensic interviews and non-emergency medical examinations in a child friendly environment for children and vulnerable adults who report abuse or witness violent crime. CornerHouse training shares knowledge, skills and expertise with other multi disciplinary teams. |

Darkness to Light The mission of Darkness to Light is to diminish the incidence and impact of child sexual abuse, so that more children will grow up healthy and whole. Their programs raise awareness of the prevalence and consequences of child sexual abuse by educating adults about the steps they can take to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to the reality of child sexual abuse. |

First Witness First Witness is a Children's Advocacy Center accredited by the National Children's Alliance. They work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals including law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, mental health and medical to strengthen our community's response to child abuse in southern St. Louis County, Minnesota. They also provide forensic interview and team development training to professionals who investigate child abuse cases. |

Georgia Center for Child Advocacy The mission of the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy is the protection, care and healing of children who have experienced serious abuse, particularly sexual abuse, through the coordinated delivery of services. These services are provided at no cost to children who reside in or were abused in DeKalb or Fulton County, Georgia. |

Houston Children's Assessment Center The Children's Assessment Center's (CAC) mission is to provide a professional, compassionate and coordinated approach to the treatment of sexually abused children and to serve as an advocate for all children in our community. As a collaboration of Harris County Commissioners' Court and The Children's Assessment Center Foundation, The CAC represents a true partnership between the public and private sectors for the most effective service delivery to children and families. |

The Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services The Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services (JBFCS) provides a comprehensive network of mental health and social services which promotes well-being, resilience and self-sufficiency for individuals and families at every stage of life. We help New Yorkers of all faiths, races and cultures. The JBFCS Center for Trauma Program Innovation is nationally recognized for its expertise in meeting the needs of children and adults who have been exposed to a wide range of traumatic events. As a member and grantee of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, the CTPI plays a critical role in helping to develop and implement community focused trauma treatments for children. In New York City, the CTPI is known for providing state-of-the-art consultation, training, program development, crisis intervention, and treatment to help New Yorkers exposed to trauma. |

Joyful Heart Foundation Founded by actress and Safe Horizon board member Mariska Hargitay, the mission of Joyful Heart is to heal, educate and empower survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse, and to shed light into the darkness that surrounds these issues. |

National Child Traumatic Stress Network Established as part of the Children's Health Act of 2000, the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) is a unique Congressional initiative that seeks to improve the quality, effectiveness and availability of services for children and families who are exposed to a wide range of traumatic experiences, including physical and sexual abuse, domestic, school and community violence, natural disasters and terrorism, and life-threatening injury and illness. |

The National Children's Advocacy Center The National Children's Advocacy Center (NCAC), based in Huntsville, Alabama, is the leading organization in the country for training child abuse professionals. The work of the NCAC serves as a beacon of hope for more than 250,000 child abuse victims every year. Each year, thousands of people from the United States and around the world are trained on how to recognize and support endangered children. More than 54,000 child abuse professionals from all 50 states and 20 countries have been trained by the NCAC. In addition to training programs throughout the year, the NCAC hosts the National Symposium on Child Abuse in March of each year in Huntsville, Alabama. National Children's Alliance National Children's Alliance is the accrediting body and membership organization for more than 900 children's advocacy centers and multidisciplinary teams around the country. NCA is a nationwide not-for-profit membership organization whose mission is to promote and support communities in providing a coordinated investigation and comprehensive response to victims of severe child abuse. |

New Orleans Children's Advocacy Center The New Orleans Children's Advocacy Center (NOCAC) provides a safe environment for abused children and their non-offending parent while the abuse is being investigated. The NOCAC also houses the Audrey Hepburn CARE Center where fellowship trained pediatricians treat and evaluate each child's medical needs. Intervention services are coordinated through a multidisciplinary team of professionals and agencies, which focuses on the child's best interests by providing assistance and protection to reduce added trauma to child victims of abuse. NOCAC works toward an acceptable, safe and legally sound outcome for each family. |

Ralston House Since 1990, Ralston House, a not-for-profit agency in Jefferson County, Colorado, has worked to provide a friendly, safe place for children and adolescents who have been sexually abused to tell their story and begin to heal from the trauma they have experienced without being re-traumatized in the process. With referrals from law enforcement, social services and the District Attorney's office, Ralston House works in conjunction with these entities to provide forensic interviews, pediatric sexual assault medical examinations, and family/victim support services. All services are provided free of charge. |

The Second Step The Second Step provides comprehensive services to families from Greater Boston, MetroWest, and beyond that have experienced domestic violence. Founded in 1992, our mission is to provide support in community settings as well as in our own transitional housing so as to end the cycle of domestic violence, one family at a time. Programs include transitional housing, case management, individual mentorships, children's therapeutic after-school program, and psycho-educational groups focused on mental health support, self-esteem, parenting, English proficiency, job readiness, and financial management. |
