Partnering with Safe Horizon
Why partner with a charity?
|

Carnival at Parrish House sponsored by BusinessWeek |
| The 2008 Cone Cause Evolution Study revealed that consumers continue to have high philanthropic expectations for companies struggling amid the current economic crisis. More than half (52%) of Americans feel companies should maintain their level of financial support of causes and nonprofit organizations. Another quarter (26%) expects companies to give even more.
Fortunately for companies, consumers are also more receptive to cause messages than ever before. They will reward companies that give back both with their goodwill and their wallets:
-
85% of Americans say they have a more positive image of a product or company when it supports a cause they care about -
79% say they would be likely to switch from one brand to another, when price and quality are about equal, if the other brand is associated with a good cause -
83% say personal relevance to the cause is key when choosing to purchase
Why partner with Safe Horizon?
Because Americans want to choose a cause that has personal relevance and everyone at some point in time has had their life touched by violence. Consider these statistics:
-
95% of Americans are concerned about child abuse and 97% believe that everyone has a responsibility to protect children against child abuse -
1 in 5 employed Americans is a victim of domestic violence -
Every two minutes, somewhere in America, someone is sexually assaulted -
Domestic violence costs $6 billion per year and costs employers 8 million lost paid work days per year
Most importantly, Safe Horizon has a Compelling Cause and Extensive Reach: Safe Horizon touches the lives of 350,000 victims of violence a year and is a national leader and expert on how to help these victims.
Ways to Make a Difference as a Corporate Partner:
SafeWork: At Safe Horizon, we know that domestic violence impacts the lives of thousands of working women and men every day and affects the financial strength and success of the companies for which they work. SafeWork is a unique training and education program that helps companies keep their employees safe and protect their bottom line. Learn more.
Direct Donations, Sponsorships: Companies can make donations for any amount to support our mission or a specific program area. Companies also have multiple annual sponsorship opportunities with Safe Horizon.
Cause-Related Marketing Promotions: With a cause-related marketing promotion, a percentage of your company’s revenues would be donated to Safe Horizon. This will help your company promote its products while supporting a great cause.
Consumer Donations: Retailers can offer their customers to add a contribution to Safe Horizon when doing their purchases. This can be done either in store or online. These types of point of sale promotions are proven to generate customer and employee goodwill.
Gifts-in-Kind: Companies donate products or services that are needed by Safe Horizon to carry out our mission. Examples of great contributions include food, clothing, toys, vans, furniture and other household furnishings, books, computers, software, hotel rooms, and airfare.
Employee Involvement: Through matching gifts (link to matching gifts page) or payroll deductions, employees can give with more capacity and help protect children and families who are victims of violence. Companies can also get employees involved through corporate events that support our programs.
Foundation Support: Through company foundations, donations of funds or services are given. This support is vital to Safe Horizon and our continuing programs for victims of violence.
Workplace Giving: A workplace giving campaign is an annual employee giving charitable campaign. When employees give through their place of employment, it creates morale and fosters team building. It also empowers them to know they are helping through an important cause and giving a voice to those who need it.
